For the Love of Making

There is so much to see, learn, and craft in this life. Why not give it our all? That's what we think here at Solvfelt Farm. Join us on the path of homemade and handcrafted. Joy and sustainability await those who take up a craft. The Crafter/Maker's life is one of love, creativity, and passion. So, dive in and share your art, passion, and creativity with the community and world.

Take The Plunge

The first step is often the hardest one, but with bravery and support, we can all make wonderful things happen. Some of that anxiousness could stem from the sheer number of things you could start. A plethora of goods can be made at home, but I remind myself often that: "One person can only do so much" and try to stick to the things that bring joy, passion, and happiness. With knitting, crocheting, and sewing you can create garments, blankets, bags, hats, coats, and so much more. You can harness the beauty of local yarns, fibers, leathers, and pelts. 

Carpentry, blacksmithing, and leather working are also huge and diverse crafts. I'm not currently well-versed in these topics so won't be touching on them too often, but James plans on diving in. Cooking, baking, and preserving, are all wonderful crafts as well. The Cosmos and us; are a seed filled with potential.

Day by day and one step at a time, we can be making wonderful things that last far longer and .

Do What You Want

That's the magic of it, taking the time to decide what YOU desire for yourself and your life. Don't do things that make you miserable just to make a dime, this leads to a life half-lived.  Work and create the things you want, and that ignites your soul. Only you can decide what you want. When we do what we love, our light will attract those who align with us.

It is also the foundation for life on this planet. Healthy soil is the key to both the flora, fauna, and humans, living a well-fed life. The living soil is home to an extraordinary number of things: animals, insects, fungi, bacteria, microbes, also the nutrients and minerals that make the biochemistry of life possible.
